Boat Club for January

I know there are people who have been waiting to see what was brought to Boat Club last night.

You weren't?

Too bad, I'll tell you about it anyway.

But first...

I've been asked what Boat Club is and here's a quick and easy answer.   We have a local Boat Club and a couple of the members take turns hosting a monthly pot luck and games night.    We always have lots of great food, and wonderful conversations and some of us even play the games.

I go for the socializing, and the food.

So without further ado, here's the latest cast of characters, aka 'The Food'.

Spreads and Crackers
Sausage and in the upper left corner, there were some yummy northern white beans.  Take a look at the sausages, they'd been scored and that made such a cool pattern.

I'm going to copy that some time.
A Pasta shells salad.

There was a lot of pasta last night, and I was one happy person.
There was this pasta dish as well.  So good.
And some Deviled Eggs, which disappeared in short order.
Another Pasta salad.

I was in pasta heaven, I tell ya.
This mushroom and chicken and gooey cheese.

Sigh.  again, so good.
Corn bread and biscuits to go with the chili, which I didn't get in order here.
Sorry for the blurry picture, but this was those little cocktail sausages in BBQ sauce.

And here's the chili.  It really didn't look quite this red/orange, it actually looked normal.  But I'm told it tasted great, but it was gone by the time I got back to taste some.
And then there was this pasta casserole, with sausage even.

Happy, happy, happy.
I didn't get a chance to taste this, but it looked good.
Squash casserole, or maybe a ratatouille?  Not too sure, meant to ask, but it did taste good.
Look at those beans, I managed to get a picture of them, but they were gone by the time I made my way through the food line.

And after getting a nice scoop of this, which looked to be mushrooms, I discovered that it was Chicken Livers and mushrooms.

I think my mouth made a happy dance.
We also had some lovely Pork Fritters.
And yet more pasta.  This was yummy as well.

Honestly, I'm not that pasta deprived, I do make it for myself from time to time.
Mashed potatoes, and look how pretty with the chives sprinkled on top.
Then there was this Crab chowder.

By the time I got down to this, my plate was pretty darn full.   But since it was chowder, I ladled some into a cup and enjoyed it.
Cheesy rice.  Which was also awesome.

Coleslaw, and look at the pretty bowl it's in.

A late addition, some fried rice.

And the desserts;
A Key Lime Pie and a loaf cake.
More pies, and they were all gone by the time I got over there, I'm just lucky I got a picture.
Mazarin Tarts, which were my contribution this month.   I'll tell you all about how to make them later on this week.

And some fruitcake and cookies.

I need to take a couple of days off from eating, there was so much good food there last night.
