Grilled Steak Sandwich- Revisited.

Awhile back I wrote about using some leftover steak on a sandwich.

And somehow in transporting that post from my earlier blog to this blog, I deleted it.

When I went to reference it with this post, I couldn't find it.

So I guess I need to try and recreate, not only the post, but my sandwich as well.

The sandwich part was easy, and delicious, but the post, well, let me just say this.

I got to totally redo that.

I don't eat out that much but there was a restaurant we used to go to which featured, for a very short window of time, a grilled steak sandwich.    And it was so good.    But, they only offered it for a very short time.

So a couple of years ago, I was craving that sandwich, and since I had some leftover grilled steak and a nice crusty baguette I decided to make myself one.
And it was so good.
Fast forward to last week, and that craving hit again.

I was prepared though, yup, I had a nice piece of very tender, rare steak and a nice Ciabatta roll, and a great recipe for my own home made Caesar dressing, courtesy of one of my sisters.

I sliced the steak very thinly, then layered it over a piece of ciabatta roll spread with a little Caesar dressing
I didn't add any cheese to this sandwich, but you can, and it's absolutely delicious.

I happen to like my steak on the rare side, almost mooing, but not quite.

This steak was perfect for my taste, but it was also a larger steak than I could eat in one sitting so I took some home.

I had plans for it.

After slicing it very thin, I layered it on a piece of Ciabatta Roll which had been slathered with some
Caesar Dressing.

After buttering both sides of the bread, I browned it over a medium heat in a pan.

Grilled Steak SandwichAfter it had gotten nice and golden brown I took it off the heat, sliced it diagonally and then popped the top off to show you how it looked inside.

The meat will actually cook a little more, and this got to be more a medium rare.

I then put the top back on and proceeded to demolish the sandwich.

I'm almost tempted to go and get another steak and just take it home so I can make myself some more of these sandwiches.
