Just thought I would share my lunch today. It's so typically Danish and so satisfying. At least it is for me. This past season there has been so much rich food served everywhere we went that I've been trying to eat a little lighter the past few days. At least now that I've gotten some of the food out of my fridge that kept on saying "EAT ME, I'm spoiling." Nag, nag, nag. Sheesh, and I wondered why the scale was complaining every time I stepped on it.
So I'm going back to my roots, at least for some of my meals, lunches especially. And one of my favorite lunches is this, Leverpostej (liverpaste), and Brie cheese on some rye crisp crackers. I like my leverpostej topped with either pickled beets or bread and butter pickles on top.
My dogs were waiting in the wings and hoping I was going to be generous and share some of my lunch. One of my dogs loves Brie cheese, the riper the better, and the other one won't touch it. But they both love liverpaste. In fact I think I've only ever met one dog who doesn't like Liverpaste. One time while camping I made myself some lunch, came out with a slice of Leverpostej for my dog, and offered a little piece to my mother in law's dog. She took it and then spit it out, with emphasis.
I didn't realize a Shih Tzu could spit that far.
After we all finished laughing at this, my MIL said, "Well, I sure don't blame her, liver is nasty". So I guess our animals take after us more than we realize.
I also want to say, I took these pictures with my brand new camera, so I am still getting used to the settings.
Hope your lunch today is as good as mine was.

Sounds like a great lunch to me :)
