Boat Club for August

Another Boat Club gathering and as usual the dishes brought were varied and delicious.    And I ended up eating way too much.  TMI?   Well, I like to at least taste everything.   And even a bite of each dish is enough to fill me up.   But the best part of our monthly gathering is getting together with friends.   And that is something that is wonderful, and I do treasure it.

So here's a recap of the dishes that were brought.   And if I know who brought what, I will pass it on.

I love pasta and this one was really tasty.  I don't know who brought it but it was good.
Chicken Fingers and Dipping Sauces, which I brought and will talk about in another post.
Quinn made a Brisket, and as usual, it was good.   I took a couple of leftover slices home for a sandwich for today.
Mary Ann brought this hot Pasta dish, and of course I had to have some.  I really think Pasta is one of those perfect foods, you can dress it up or down, or serve it cold or as a side dish or a main dish or even dessert.
Bill made these skewers of goodies.   Aren't they pretty?  And tasty.   What a fun idea and presentation.
I think I could have made a meal just of these, cream cheese, home grown poblano chilies, and corn.  Leon really makes some great dishes.
I think Bob and Kathy brought this.   A spinach salad, and I noticed it got et.   And rightly so,  really yummy.
Rita made these pulled pork sliders, and they were excellent.
I did not get a chance to taste these sandwiches, I was so full, but I know Pat does some awesome stuff, so I know they were good.

Debi brought a delicious salad, and look at the bowl she brought it in.   A gorgeous Onyx bowl.    She guarded the bowl very well, I for one was covetous of it.

Harriet always comes up with some great dishes and this was no exception.  Flat beans and so good.

And then there were the desserts.  sigh.

I don't know who brought this, but I'm so weak when it comes to turning down Pineapple upside down cake.  So, I didn't.   I had a taste.
Rita also brought this Apple Dumpling dish.   Served it with some ice-cream and OMG, this is another thing I'm helpless against, Apple Dumplings.   I had some, along with the Pineapple Cake.
Then there was Alvin's Birthday Cake.   Marilyn makes the best cakes.  She bakes them in a skillet.   I've got an electric skillet on my wish list, and the next time I find one, I think I'm buying it, just so I can make these cakes.
I did not get a taste of this Lemon Pie, but was told it was really delicious.    I just didn't have room.
And last, but not least, I did snag a taste of these.  A Puff Pastry pinwheel with a caramelized fruit filling.

I think everyone outdid themselves again last night.   The food was great, the fellowship even better, and even though it was hot, we do live in Florida after all, we still had a good time.
