Countdown to 2017 - Wild Card

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

 I didn't shout too loudly did I?

Hopefully you didn't celebrate too much last night.
Sarah of Fantastical Sharing is the hostess with the mostess for this Countdown to 2017.
And today's feature is a Wild Card.
Which means you can tell all about the recipes you want to make, or a recipe or post you want to share or?
I didn't do a category, because I make a lot of appetizer type dishes, but along the way I also have fun, and that is why I came up with the following.

I honestly couldn't think of which ones I wanted to share again,  and then I kinda tripped over a post that was just plain fun.
This, Pineapple Parrot.
I actually made two of them, for separate do's and they were more darn fun.  Made a bit of a mess in the kitchen, but that's not new for me. It was just plain fun to make.
Pineapple Parrot

You should have fun in the kitchen, otherwise what's the point?  I have fun most of the time, and sometimes not.
There were a few offerings to the Kitchen Goddess this year, but most of those were because of my inattention to them, and the smoke alarm went off a few times along the way as well. sigh

I also had fun making a Kransekage (Part One and Part Two) for a friend's wedding this fall.
Quite frankly I'd been looking for an excuse to try out the special pans my sister had given me awhile back, and this seemed the perfect time to try them out.  You don't usually decorate it quite this much, but the bride and groom were both football fans, and for different teams, so they got flags for their respective teams.
Kransekage
It was a success.  A Kransekage is a Danish celebratory cake.

It's made not only for weddings, but for Christmas, or confirmations or just to celebrate an occasion.

Tomorrow is also the First Monday Favorites, so come on by and check it out, but first...
