First Monday Favorite Recipes- January 2017

I was a member of the Secret Recipe Club for a few years and it recently dissolved, but along the way I discovered some amazingly talented bloggers.

We were divided into several groups, and assigned a blog to find and make a recipe from and post about it at a set time.  We had to keep our recipe secret until our assigned posting date.  (and that wasn't easy either)

I got used to seeing amazing recipes posted every Monday, and would bookmark and make a lot of them.

I'm going to miss reading all the great recipes every week, but I thought maybe, I could host a First Monday every month whereby the former SRC bloggers could post about their favorite recipe for the previous month.

Here's mine from December.    Gingered Cranberry Chutney Compote.   I also used the simple syrup from the chutney and used it to make this Cranberry Blush Cocktail, (and boy is it tasty) and then I mixed some of it up with some homemade Orange Marmalade and used it to coat some Cranberry Orange Chutney Wings.

I love multiple use recipes.

I want to know what recipe you made last month that surprised, delighted and basically blew you away with how good it was.

I'm calling it First Monday Favorites.   This will be a monthly link party, the first Monday of the month.

What did you make?

Please add your link, and feel free to show these other bloggers some love by commenting on their posts.
The link goes 'live' at noon or midnight, depending on which 12 you scheduled. I sometimes get confused, sigh.  Next month it will be Midnight or maybe not.  I still have to learn this Link tool stuff.

    1. Thanks so much for coming by and linking your recipe. And the chutney was excellent. I'm just sorry it's all gone now, but I still have some cocktail makings left, giggle.

  2. I'm so glad you started this group...it's a great idea. My favorites are rarely the favorites of my readers...perhaps because some of the ugliest dishes usually end up tasting the best!

    1. Thanks and thank you for sharing. I loved the syrup, it made a crazy delicious drink, and I still have a little left in the fridge, but it will be gone today. sigh. The Chutney was really good as well, and this is a recipe I will be making again, as soon as I buy more cranberries.
